New Month, New Store, New Freebie for you!

Hi guys!! May is an exciting month. This weekend is iNSD weekend, and I'm sure you've felt it: the whole digi-land has worked itself up in a frenzy in preparation for it-- freebies, coupons, giveaways, and games abound. Me? I'm all for frenzied celebrations, LOL. I'm also guesting at STS this month, and my entire store is 40% off the first week of May.

One of the fun things they do over at STS is called the BAK, or build-a-kit. All the designers come up with their own creations around a certain palette and theme, and you get to pick and choose which ones you want. If you buy 3 or more kits, you can use the code: MAYBAK_BUY3_SAVE50% to get them half off!

Here is my contribution:

You can also collect two freebies from me, one here, one on my Facebook page. Hope you have a great iNSD weekend!

All Things Bright and Beautiful, Revised

Hi all! How's your week going? Mine has been busy so far. Even though I've submitted my last Designer Darling entry, this week I have been revising the kit based on the judges' comments. Let me tell you, they have the eyes of an eagle! I'm really grateful for all their honest and detailed critique. I have learned so many things along the way, one of which is not to rely on my actions too much. Apparently, my alpha cutter saves the files to 72 dpi instead of 300! Talk about embarrassing! And I've learned to not discard my layered files until they've passed QC. I'm glad I saved my preview in PSD format... I sure don't want to think about having to do that from scratch again!

Anyway, I thought you might want the revised version of some of the stuff, especially the alpha. So I've packaged them and you can download them by clicking on the new preview. Thank you for all your kind comments and patience with me on this learning journey of mine. :)

The link to the full kit has also been updated. Click here to download if you haven't gotten the full kit yet.

Designer Darling Round 5

Hi peeps! Sorry I was so quiet for the last 2 weeks. I've been hard at work making the full kit for STS's Designer Darling Contest. This is the final round, and you really should go and check it out because there are some gorgeous kits submitted. I hope you find mine as such as well. ;)

My inspiration this round comes from the song "All Things Bright and Beautiful." The lyrics go like this:

Refrain:
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flow’r that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Isn't that just beautiful? I hope you'll have fun finding the elements in my kit that match the song. I also love the palette, so bright and cheery, perfect for spring! Click on the image below to go to the STS forum, where the link is.

I also have two add-ons for you, one on my Facebook page and one here. Leave me a comment if you've enjoyed them or scrapped something with them!

Designer Darling Round 4

Woohoo! Another round finished! I'm very proud of my work for this round, not only because I managed to make a kit without any CU (other than that provided), but because I managed to make anything at all in these 3 days. I had a 60-page proofreading project to hand in today, and my newborn daughter got admitted to the hospital for RSV this morning. Needless to say, it has been a hectic day! Almost half of this kit has been made in the hospital... it's my first time doing so, and hopefully it'll be the last time.

This round, I picked a boyish palette and theme, because I feel like I've been making and scrapping only with girly kits since my baby was born, and boys deserve some love too! Hope you can find some use for "Mischievous"!

And you can download the add-on here on the blog.

Designer Darling Round 3

These rounds just pass by like the wind! Again, here is my submission to the Designer Darling contest at the Stuff to Scrap forum. This round, we're asked to make our own designer resources. I really don't mind extracting at all, but taking good photos is what gets me. I need a fancier camera/scanner! LOL. Plus, everyone in the house got sick this week, so I didn't have the time to go all OCD on these photos as I normally would have. I just took pictures of my newborn girl's clothes and hairbands and extracted what was usable. Hopefully you'll find them useful as well!

Designer Darling Round 2

Just a quick post before I go and start my busy, busy day. Designer Darling Round 2 has finished and I barely made the deadline. This round we had to pick a palette and make a kit based on the inspiration we got from two photos. I was inspired to make a kit that celebrates the friendships we make and maintain across long distances: "Friends are like stars; you don't always see them, but you know they're always there." As I was making this kit, I thought of my friends all over the world, especially those I left behind in Hong Kong. The palette is a girly mix of pink and purple; hopefully you can all find some use for it, maybe even for your Valentine's Day pictures!

You can download the kit at the Stuff to Scrap forum here.

Here at the blog, you can pick up this add-on (the paper is included in the kit):

Just click on the preview to download. You can now also grab the co-ordinating alphas on my Facebook!
